The New Year is finally here and there are only few weeks to wait until Megastar starts her trips on Tallinn-Helsinki route. So what would be a better time to take a look back on how she was built. Here are the TOP5 most read stories on Megastar site, in chronological order.

1. The construction of Megastar is proceeding on schedule »
In February 2016, the keel was ceremoniously laid into the dock pool, after which the Megastar has started to resemble a ship.

2. Megastar taking shape »
Post from June, when the large segments of the Megastar, being built at the Meyer Turku shipyard, have been installed to the ship. Of all the visible large segments, only the mast is still missing.

3. Vahur Sõstra appointed as the Captain of Megastar »
Also in June we announced the name of the captain.

4. Interior works have begun »
In a post from September, we witness that some sections of Megastar are actually ready! The first patterns of the floor of the Victory Bar on the 8th deck have been installed and the ceiling constructions give some idea of the coming design. The interior facilities are taking shape.

Working long hours at the terminal in Tallinn

The Passenger Terminal D, which Tallink uses at the Port of Tallinn, has been in the middle of renovations since last summer. Originally designed for approximately three million annual passengers, the terminal is currently used by double the amount of passengers, so an extension is necessary.
